The Salvation is a 2014 Danish co-production Western movie directed by Kristian Levring and starring Mads Mikkelsen as Jon Jensen, a former Danish soldier and veteran of the Second Schleswig War who emigrates to the United States together with his brother Peter (Mikael Persbrandt). Jon's wife and son are brutally killed by a pair of outlaws. Jon exacts revenge on the villains, but one of them turns out to be a brother of local land baron and gang chieftain Colonel Henry Delarue (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). Delarue begins the hunt for Jon, forcing the residents of the town of Black Creek to cooperate.

The total shooting budget of the film, which was announced as 10 million Euros, does not have revenue information. Set in the wild west times of the 1970s, The Salvation tells the audience a story that takes place in America, one of the central countries of the world. While Jon, the hero of our story, is traveling with his family from one place to another, something bad happens to him and his wife and child are killed. Thereupon, the man, burning with vengeance, kills the murderers in cold blood. But his revenge will cause great trouble and anger the leader of one of the dirtiest gangs in the region. Betrayed by tensions within the gang, Jon must prepare for a one-man battle against the gang.
