Yes, free is not going away. Many of our programs are available for free on various digital platforms including On Demand at IdahoPTV.org, PBS.org, PBS mobile applications, and the PBS channels on Roku, AppleTV, and other streaming services. And of course, PBS and IdahoPTV programs will continue to be broadcast to the public for free, over the air.
Many PBS programs are available for free online viewing after they air. After approximately two weeks, many become available exclusively to Passport members. IdahoPTV also offers many locally produced specials and IdahoPTV original productions in Passport.
Current members who donate $60 or more annually and have an active email address on file with the station will have received an email from PBS and IdahoPTV inviting you to begin the activation process. There's a chance the email may get filtered into your spam/junk folder, so be sure to look there for the message.
The activation email may have gone to your spam folder, please check for it there. The activation code email can take up to two hours or more to arrive in your inbox. If you never received an activation code, you can get another one sent to you by entering your email address into the Member Lookup, by emailing us or calling us (208) 373-7220 (8a.m. - 5p.m., Monday-Friday).
If you are not getting the audio or video after entering the AirPlay code, you should try a power reset and repeat the process. Simply unplug the TV from the power source directly and let it sit for 60 seconds before plugging it back in. Use the AirPlay feature again to start screen mirroring.
NextGen TV, aka ATSC 3.0, is the next-generation version of free OTA TV, rolling out in select areas of the country now and over the next few years. Among other improvements, it will support 4K HDR video and an internet back-channel which will be used for on-demand video.
